Other Social Media Search Tasks
(This page was last updated on the 20/01/2024)Without making any direct contact with any individuals identified during this exercise, complete the following tasks, using any of the useful links on the Flickr, Russian, TikTok and the YouTube pages of our www.uk-osint.net website. You should spend at least 5 minutes on each task.

Flickr
1. Using the link for the Flickr Map under the Flickr - Location Details heading on the Flickr related page of our website, search for photographs uploaded to Flickr from the area around the nearest city to where you live or work. Then select a photograph uploaded from that location, click on it to visit the photograph on Flickr to answer the following;
a) What is the date & time that the photo was taken?
b) What was the location it was either taken or uploaded from?
c) Locate any useful identifying EXIF data associated with the photograph?
2. Now visit the main Flickr account for the account holder who uploaded this photograph. If the Flickr account has a Flickr account name in the address bar, then use the link to idGettr under the Turn A Flickr Account Name Into A Flickr Account ID Number heading to locate the Flickr account user ID number.
3. On the main Flickr account page for the account holder who uploaded this photograph, visit the About heading to try to identify any additional details for the account holder.
TikTok
4. Visit the official TikTok account for West Ham United Football Club, then using the links on the TikTok page of our website answer the following;
a) What is the account ID Number?
b) Select their most recent uploaded video and identify the exact date and time it was uploaded?
5. Visit the official TikTok account for the comedian Robert Beckett, then using the links on the TikTok page of our website answer the following;
a) What is the account ID Number?
b) Select their most recent uploaded video and identify the exact date and time it was uploaded?
VK
6. Using the link for the VK Search Page under the VK heading on the Russian Social Media Sites page of our website, set it to search for VK Account holders linked to a City near to where you live or work and then select one that you are interested in, to look through, checking under Show Full Information, the Posts, Photos and the People (most likely Friends / Followers) who have Liked their Comments & Photos, to identify any useful information on the account holder.
Some VK accounts and some sections of others are only accessible if you have logged in to VK with an account. Whilst you can create an account if you wish or have time but if not just select another VK account to view.
If you come across any posts or comments on this account in a language you don't understand, try using one of the links to an online translator on the Translation Sites page of our website to put it into your own language.
7. Using the VK Account Number Search link under the VK heading on the Russian Social Media Sites page of our website, change this VK Account from a name to an Account Number;

8. Using one of the links under the Search For YouTube Videos Via A Location heading on the YouTube Related Sites & Links page of our website, search for a video uploaded from a city that you live or work close to and view it on YouTube.
9. Select the option to obtain the transcript of this video.
10. What was the date & time this video was uploaded? How many views has it had? and read some of the Comments made about it.
11. Now using one of the links or techniques under the Download Online Videos heading on the YouTube page of our website download a copy of the video to your desktop.
12. Now view the account of whoever uploaded the video, checking their About section for any details to their identity or links to any other online sites.
