Searching Phone Numbers

(This page was last updated on the 18/08/2023)

Searching telephones numbers online, either landlines or mobile / cell, can be effective, however as well and searching it starting with a local code and an international code, it would be best if you also searched it as a ''phrase'' in the style which that that country sets out and spaces its telephone numbers.

There is some useful information on Wikipedia about how most countries set out their telephone numbers.

Some of the countries regularly searched generally have their telephone numbers set out in the follow style;

Australia          +61        usually written in the style of Local Code/Country Code then    123 123 123
Canada             +1          usually written in the style of Local Code/Country Code then    123 123 1234
China                +86        usually written in the style of Local Code/Country Code then    123 1234 1234
   France              +33        usually written in the style of Local Code/Country Code then    1 12 12 12 12
Germany          +49        usually written in the style of Local Code/Country Code then    1234 1234567
Hong Kong      +852      usually written in the style of Local Code/Country Code then    1234 1234
India                 +91        usually written in the style of Local Code/Country Code then    12345 12345
Ireland              +353      usually written in the style of Local Code/Country Code then    12 123 1234
Italy                   +39        usually written in the style of Local Code/Country Code then    123 123 1234
New Zealand    +64        usually written in the style of Local Code/Country Code then    12 123 1234
Portugal            +351     usually written in the style of Local Code/Country Code then    123 123 123
Russia               +7         usually written in the style of Local Code/Country Code then    123 123 12 12
Slovakia            +421     usually written in the style of Local Code/Country Code then    123 123 123
Spain                 +34       usually written in the style of Local Code/Country Code then    123 12 12 12
UK                     +44        usually written in the style of Local Code/Country Code then    1234 123456
Ukraine             +380      usually written in the style of Local Code/Country Code then    12 123 1234
USA                   +1          usually written in the style of Local Code/Country Code then    123 123 1234

So as an example a UK landline may best be searched, as phrase and changing the spacing, firstly as
''01823123456'' & ''01823 123456'' & ''01823 123 456'' and then as
''1823123456'' & ''1823 123456'' & ''1823 123 456'' and then as
''441823123456'' & ''441823 123456'' & ''441823 123 456''

And an American one may best be searched, as phrase and changing the spacing, firstly as
''09171234567'' & ''0917 123 4567'' and then as
''9171234567'' & ''917 123 4567'' and then as
''19171234567'' & ''1917 123 4567''
